Survey Results: Sonoma County Fire Survivor Status & Needs Assessment 7 Months In

Thank you to the 335 fire survivors who took the survey, which was open from the beginning of May 2018 to the beginning of June 2018.  The Results Are Found Here»

Please note that the answers are weighted toward responses from State Farm insureds, Fountaingrove, Hidden Valley Estates, and Coffey Park, as those are the groups I can most easily reach.  I have shared the results with City of Santa Rosa, County of Sonoma, California Department of Insurance, United Policyholders, emotional health professionals, and other helping agencies I have contacts for.

I was surprised at the low number of “undecided” people (Question 4) and the low number of folks who wanted information regarding financing options (Question 10), but that may be a survey design flaw on my part, or it simply captured one moment in the up-and-down nature of our post-fire process.

Here are the survey results from the United Policyholders Survey.

Sonoma County Fire Survivors–even if you have sold or are selling your lot(s)please complete this SurveyMonkey concerning rebuilding, insurance, communication (neighborhoods/local and other government), and emotional well-being. This data helps identify our status and needs moving forward to local government and possibly other helping agencies.  Please share the survey with other fire survivors so they can complete it. For all Sonoma County fire survivors, regardless of insurer or rebuilding status.  Complete one survey per household.

FOUNTAINGROVE and HIDDEN VALLEY ESTATES folks, this Surveyis especially important for us since we do not yet have a mechanism for communicating effectively with the City and County or even with each other (until we get an area rep/block capn system going).

I want to be able to bring this data to Monday’s 5/7/18 Community Mtg for FG and HVE (at Unitarian Church, 547 Mendo, SR, 6-8 pm), so FG & HVE folks please complete it prior to 5/7/18 if possible.  However, this survey will remain open at least for the entire month of May.

Results will be posted on
